CERT is a nationally recognized program that trains community members and involves them in the response of emergencies.  Many tasks that need to be performed during emergencies include helping neighbors or making sure people get through a clinic quickly, a flier for the program said.

The health department is recruiting people for its fall program of CERT – scheduled from 6 to 9 p.m. on Sept. 24, 25, 26 and 30 and Oct. 2, as well as Oct. 5 from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Registration in advance is required. Participants must attend all classes and be at least 18 years old.
