DANBURY, Conn. -- The Cultural Alliance of Western Connecticut in Danbury is seeking a guest curator for 2016.
The right individual will start immediately to develop the 2017 exhibition season.
The position requires a minimum of two full days weekly.
The gallery schedule is Thursday and Friday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., and Saturday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
The guest curator will be an active member of the Cultural Alliance of Western Connecticut and will work closely with the executive director to oversee the general organization and functioning of the gallery.
This position is ideal for someone looking to connect with the creative community on a part-time, volunteer basis and who desires to be an active part of expanding the arts and culture in downtown Danbury as a growing destination.
Qualifications: The individual must:
- Embrace art enthusiastically and with regard
- Demonstrate professional manners and appearance
- Display excellent communication skills
- Be mature, motivated, responsible, attentive, well organized and detail oriented
Duties will include but are not limited to:
- Assisting in the curatorial process
- Exhibition preparation
- Mailing invitations
- Special events planning
