DANBURY, Conn. -- The 5th Annual Clancy Relocation & Logistics Golf Classic to benefit the Regional Hospice and Home Care Center for Comfort Care & Healing, will be Aug. 24 at the Ridgewood Country Club in Danbury.
The golf classic is nearly sold out, and there will be a total of 35 foursomes to spend a day golfing followed by the famous Million Dollar Shoot-out, cocktails, dinner and live auction and raffle.
“We are so thankful for the dedication of our golf committee -- their support through golf brings awareness, advocacy and funds for our nonprofit hospice services and palliative care,” said Regional Hospice president and CEO Cynthia Roy.
The money raised from the event will help Regional Hospice support the first and only private-room, family-focused hospice center in Danbury. Larry Riefberg of Riefberg, Smart, Donohue & NeJame, P.C., has passed the torch as chairman to Billy Craig of Craig’s Jewelers in Ridgefield.
“I have very big shoes to fill this year as this is a new committee for me to chair. Larry has done a tremendous job over the past two years,” Craig said. “Regional Hospice is a cause that is near and dear to my heart. The new center will help over 1,000 patients from children to the elderly. We still need to help fundraise for all of Regional Hospice’s program needs. ”
This year, Craig is joined by co-chairmans George Mulvaney of Mulvaney Mechanical and Mark Paladino of Colonial Ford. Members of the golf committee include Jerry Benziger, Fil Cerminara, Jeff Culbertson, Brian Crotty, Danielle Durgy, Robin Ely, Jeffery Jowdy, Dave LaJoie, Tom McCarthy, MaryBeth Prunty, Larry Riefberg, Meg Riefberg and Bill Sabatini.
Sponsorship opportunities available for the golf classic range from tee signs for $200 and hole signs for $500 (includes a half-page program ad), to beverage cart sponsor for $2,500 and golf ball sponsors for $6,000, with many options in between.
