DANBURY, CONN. — Danbury's Shelter Rock Wine Making Club and Winery announced plans to hold a wine tasting week starting Sunday.
The winery, at 5 Shelter Rock Road, will hold nightly wine tastings from Jan. 5 to 10. Each tasting will run from 7 to 9 p.m.
Winery owner Giovanni Petretta also will be accepting applications for apprentices and talking about his wine making program. His family in Naples has been making wine for more than 500 years.
Petretta will explain the yearlong process of making wine in detail. It begins in September when members and apprentices choose grapes, then come back to help with the crushing, fermenting, pressing, racking and finally bottling and labeling in June.
“Every step of the way,” says Petretta, “is a celebration…joining with friends, family and co-workers to enjoy the fruits of our labor.”
Space is limited, so call 203-948-8235 for reservations.
