Whole Foods, the grocer now owned by Amazon, said it suffered a data breach of credit card information used in taprooms and full table-service restaurants in some of its stores.

The market has Fairfield County locations in Danbury, Darien, Fairfield, Greenwich and Westport.

"These venues use a different point of sale system than the company’s primary store checkout systems, and payment cards used at the primary store checkout systems were not affected," Whole Foods said in a statement.

Whole Foods is investigating the breach and said it will release further information as it becomes.

"While most Whole Foods Market stores do not have these taprooms and restaurants, Whole Foods Market encourages its customers to closely monitor their payment card statements and report any unauthorized charges to the issuing bank," Whole Foods added.

The systems do not connect to these systems at Whole Foods Market. Transactions on have not been impacted, Whole Foods said.

Other companies that have recently been the victims of credit card breaches the last few months include Chipotle and Arby’s, in addition to the massive Equifax breach that may have compromised millions of Social Security numbers.
