The fast-food spot was a Wendy’s a decade ago and has opened its doors to many different businesses throughout the years. However, Ole Mexican Grill has a variety of food unlike any other eatery that has operated in the prime location.
From 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily, customers can enjoy a variety of food, ranging from deli sandwiches, fried chicken, tacos, burritos, wraps, burgers, egg sandwiches, omelets, French toast, griddle cakes and much more. Prices of burgers and sandwiches range from $6.99 to $8.99.
The restaurant is the only one in the area owned by Ahmed Ahsan. He hopes to be able to cater to the tastes of the students at Western and does so by offering meal swipes at his establishment to students who are on the meal plan through the university.
“I hope it works out as our main focus is the students, and we are looking to hire them as well to be part of our staff,” said Lucy Hernandez, an employee at Ole.
Positions still are being filled as they look to staff more positions in the front end of the restaurant and possibly some kitchen staff as well.
“We will have beer, too, as well, at some point,” Hernandez said.
