New Canaan PD: Driver Under Influence Followed Too Closely In Two-Car Crash Police in New Canaan busted a Fairfield County man for allegedly drinking and driving before being involved in a motor vehicle crash when he was following too closely to another driver on Monday night. Officers from the New Canaan Police Department were dispatched to Jelliff Mill Road shortly before 9:15 p.m. on Monday night, where there was a report of a two-car crash that may have involved an intoxicated driver.
