A 30-year-old man allegedly driving drunk and high with his children in the car is behind bars after crashing into a guardrail off I-684 in Northern Westchester, resisting arrest and attempting to flee, police said. Woman Under Influence With Teen Aboard Nearly Hits Other Cars At Wilton Town Center, Police Say
A 51-year-old local woman was arrested after police received reports of an erratic driver almost hitting other vehicles at the Wilton Town Center. Melissa Calafell of Wilton was arrested on Thursday, Nov. 1 after Wilton Police officers responded and were able to locate her just as she was pulling into her home in Wilton, said Lt. Robert Kluk. After talking with Calafell, officers noticed that she was intoxicated and that she had a 13-year-old female juvenile inside the car with her. Mother With Baby In Car On Route 1 Caught With Heroin, Police Say
A 23-year-old Hudson Valley woman who was pulled over with a toddler in the car in Connecticut was caught with heroin packaged for sale, police said.The incident occurred on Wednesday, Aug. 1 on Route 1 (Boston Post Road) near Home Acres Avenue in Milford. Tori Hinman of Wingdale in Dutchess County, was stopped after making an illegal U-turn in a parking lot, Milford Police said. CT Man Charged With DUI With Child In Car
A 35-year-old Connecticut man was busted in Rhode Island for allegedly driving drunk with a 4-year--old in the car. Matthew Chouinard, of Pomfret, was arrested at approximately 8:20 p.m. Sunday, on I-95 North in Richmond after troopers spotted a vehicle being operated erratically, with no headlights or taillights on well after sunset. A 38-year-old man is facing a series of charges after receiving his second DWI conviction in 10 years following a state police investigation into a crash on I-84 in Putnam County while he had two children in the back seat not wearing seatbelts. A highly publicized nearly six-year-old defamation lawsuit was settled this week in favor of Douglas and Molly Kennedy of Chappaqua. The Kennedys countersued Northern Westchester Hospital, two of its nurses and the husband of one of the nurses. The couple's lawsuit followed Kennedy's acquittal of child endangerment and harassment charges stemming from a Jan. 7, 2012 altercation at the hospital in Mount Kisco. The hospital did not comment.
