NEW FAIRFIELD, Conn. – Members of the New Fairfield School Board declined to censure another member regarding their social media activity in a heated meeting Thursday night, according to the Danbury News-Times.

Teachers also continued to push for school superintendent Alicia Roy's resignation, the News-Times said.

The contentious attempt to censure board member Scott Akam late in the meeting had its basis in Facebook comments he had made about two residents, reported the Danbury News-Times.

When the motion to censure came up for discussion, Akam said the pair had made several negative comments about him and one of the residents, Craig Rosen, yelled at him in response, the News-Times said. Both Rosen and Akam left the meeting before the vote, the News-Times reported.
