A Fairfield County man was arrested for allegedly violating a domestic protective order by contacting the victim.
Joseph Cherico, age 51, of Darien, was arrested on Saturday, April 24, after police were contacted by the victim, said Darien Police Sgt. James Palmieri.
According to Palmieri, the victim told officers that Cherico had attempted to contact them via cell phone in violation of a standing court order.
Proof of the missed call was presented to officers.
Officers confirmed the order, and then made contact with Cherico who admitted making the call but said it was accidental, Palmieri said.
Cherico was taken into custody and charged with violation of a restraining order.
He was released on a $1000 bond.
