A Brookfield man was arrested on a warrant for leaving the scene of a crash last year.

Matthew Abbassi, 25, turned himself into Wilton Police on an active warrant stemming from an evading a motor vehicle accident that occurred in October of last year, said Sgt. Stephen Sisenstein.

During the crash, Abbassi was traveling northbound on Danbury Road at Blue Ridge Road in a 2016 grey Nissan Rouge when he allegedly struck a vehicle on the rear passenger's side while attempting to pass the vehicle on the right side of the road, said Sisenstein.

Abbassi was charged with evading responsibility, driving with a suspended license, and passing on the right.

He was released on a promise to appear ticket and is scheduled to appear in court on Jan 14.
