Brick Police Arrest Pair On Multiple Drug Charges

Two people were arrested on multiple drug charges on Tuesday in Brick, police said.

About 6:45 p.m. on Tuesday, Brick police observed a driver commit several motor vehicle offenses near Cedar Bridge Avenue and Route 70.

K-9 officer Scott Smith and his K-9 partner Echo conducted a sniff search of the vehicle during which the police dog provided a positive indication for the presence of narcotics.

The vehicle was operated by Jeanette Taylor, 34, of Lakewood. Her passenger was later identified as Malique Medler, 24, of South Toms River. 

Both occupants were subsequently found to be in the possession of approximately four grams of crack cocaine and marijuana, police said.

Taylor was charged with possession of crack cocaine, possession of crack cocaine with intent to distribute, possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, failure to maintain lane, controlled dangerous substance in motor vehicle and having an open container of alcohol, Brick police said.

Taylor was processed and released on a summons.

Medler was charged with possession of crack cocaine, possession of crack cocaine with intent to distribute, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia, police said.

Medler also was found to have a no bail warrant out of the Ocean County Sheriff’s Office. Medler was transported to and lodged in the Ocean County Jail.
