Virginia Mailloux, 40, of Jackson, was arrested at her home on Thursday and charged with criminal mischief, trespassing and bias intimidation, Jackson police said.
Mailloux is accused of painting hateful vandalism which was discovered last week at B&B Tent and Party Rentals on Progress Place, police said. She was released ahead of a court hearing.
Police found anti-Semitic graffiti that included the phrase "white power" spray-painted on the side of a trailer that faced a wooded area away from the business and a swastika and other markings painted on the interior of a fence surrounding trash containers, police said.
Security video showed a car drive into the property at night after the business was closed. People got out of the car and went into the area where the garbage containers were and where the graffiti was found. Detectives were able to identify the female driver as Mailloux, police said.
When they went to her home on Thursday and arrested her, police officers said they found spray-painted markings at the home similar to those at the vandalized business, in a similar paint color, and paint splatter on the car used that was similar to the color of the paint used.
The car used was impounded pending potential forfeiture proceedings.
