Tyron Heard, 21 of Bridgeport, was shot and killed around 7:30 p.m. Sunday, March 10, according to Bridgeport Police Capt. Brian Fitzgerald.

Two other men, ages 17 and 22, who were also shot, survived, he added.

The incident took place around 7:30 p.m. Sunday in the area of 553 Hollister St., said Terron Jones, spokesman for the Bridgeport Police Department.

According to Fitzgerald, at least 20 rounds were fired at a vehicle at that location.

At least three persons were in the vehicle at the time of the shooting, Fitzgerald said.

"All three were driven to Bridgeport Hospital in the vehicle they were sitting in when shot," he said.

The 17-year-old and 22-year-old males sustained non-life threatening injuries. Heard arrived at the hospital in critical condition and died a short time later, Fitzgerald said.

Detectives recovered the victim's vehicle and it was towed for processing. They are also processing a crime scene at the location of the shooting.
