FAIRFIELD COUNTY, Conn. -- A warming trend has arrived in Fairfield County, where today's temperatures, around the mid-50s, are substantially toastier than Friday when it snowed.

Kids still need a jacket before heading out to trick-or-treat this afternoon and evening.

Things will cool off, then warm up again, according to the National Weather Service.

Halloween night brings areas of frost after midnight and low temperatures into the mid-30's, the Weather Service said.

Sensitive plants should be protected from the frost, which will stick around Tuesday morning, before sunny skies warm things back up to the mid-50s.

Temperatures Tuesday night dip slightly, around 10 degrees, then sunny and warm weather rules Wednesday, when seasonal fall air will be in the mid-60s.

Thursday arrives cloudy with the chance of showers and bring a slight warming trend again, to the high 60s.

It will be breezy overnight when numbers will likely hit the low to mid-40s and more rain is anticipated.

Friday's sunny skies bring highs in the mid-50s.
