After a decade of serving as assistant principal, an experienced educator will now take the helm of a Fairfield County middle school. Staples HS Welcomes New Principal
The Westport Board of Education has named a veteran educator to take over at the helm of Staples High School. The Board announced on Thursday that Stafford W. Thomas, Jr. will succeed Principal James D’Amico, who announced earlier this year that he was resigning to take over at his hometown high school in New Fairfield. A Fairfield County school has been named the state’s “middle school of the year” by the Connecticut Association of Schools. Earlier this year, Principal Bryan Darcy of David Wooster Middle School in Stratford was notified by the organization that the school had been named a finalist for the award. The Connecticut Association of Schools (CAS) has officially named Gordon Beinstein, the principal of Western Middle School in Greenwich, as the Connecticut Principal of the Year for 2019.
