Stamford Skaters Invite Public To Free Showcase STAMFORD, Conn. -- The Southern CT Synchronized Skating team and the Skating Club of Southern CT invite the public to a free Skater Showcase on Sunday, March 19 at the Terry Conners Rink from 2-4:30 p.m. Individual skaters and each line from the team will perform their routines. Garage Fire Quickly Extinguished In Brookfield BROOKFIELD, Conn. -- The Candlewood Company of the Brookfield Volunteer Fire Department quickly extinguished a blaze Sunday afternoon in the garage of a home on Clearview Drive. Members of both Brookfield volunteer fire companies stayed on scene to vent the smoke and meter the house. There were no reported injuries. The cause and origin of the fire is under investigation by the Brookfield Fire Marshal.

Brookfield Town Hall, Senior Center To Close Due To Impending blizzard BROOKFIELD, Conn. -- Town Hall and several other municipal buildings in Brookfield will be closed Tuesday due to the impending snowstorm.The Senior Center and Library will also be closed. Kettle Bells For A Cure: CrossFit Gyms Raise Thousands For Trumbull Tot TRUMBULL, CONN. -- Eleven CrossFit gyms in Fairfield County went to bat and beyond to support a 1-year-old Trumbull boy and raised more than $10,000 to help his family find a cure for his rare disorder. Cameron "Cam" Simpson has Alternating Hemiplegia of Childhood or AHC, which is characterized by recurrent attacks of temporary paralysis, stiffness, and unusual eye movements. Former Stratford Brakettes Star, 19, Dies From Brain Tumor STRATFORD, Conn. -- A former Stratford Brakettes player and Milford resident died early Friday morning after being diagnosed with a brain tumor last summer. Danni Kemp, 19, starred at Foran High High School in Milford and played last year at Stony Brook University on Long Island, where she cracked the starting lineup as a freshman.
