Trio Busted On Heroin Charges After Motor Vehicle Stop In Bridgeport

BRIDGEPORT, Conn. – A motor vehicle stop led to three arrests on drug charges Monday afternoon, Bridgeport police said.

Officer Carlos Vazquez pulled over the vehicle near East Main and Howe streets. He noticed the odor of marijuana and observed what appeared to be a bag of marijuana inside the vehicle, police said.

The driver said he and his passengers had been smoking marijuana earlier, police said.

The driver, Jaquan Bryant, 24, of Bridgeport, also indicated that the car was not licensed or insured, police said.

As officers prepared to have the car towed, they discovered 38 baggies of heroin packaged for street sale inside the vehicle, police said. 

Bryant was charged with motor vehicle violations and with possession of narcotics and possession with intent to sell narcotics. His bond was set at $6,500.

His passengers, Ronald Waller, 22, and Eishaun Kenneth Bell, 21, face charges of possession of narcotics and possession with intent to sell. Their bonds were set at $5,000 each.
