Teens Charged With Trespassing At Suffern Quarry

SUFFERN, N.Y. -- Ramapo police charged seven teenagers from New Jersey on Friday with trespassing at the quarry on Tilcon Road in Suffern.

Police advise that the conditions at the quarry are dangerous, and trespassers will be arrested for the safety of the violators as well as first responders. 

The Ramapo Police Department also stopped a car with a strong odor of marijuana on McNamara Road in New Hempstead. Police found a "stash jar" on the floorboard, about which the driver claimed to have no idea,police said.

Police also said they located another jar, bags of marijuana, a grinder and a plastic jar. The 18-year-old male from Airmont was charged with criminal possession of marijuana and released on bail. He is scheduled to appear in New Hempstead Justice Court in August. 

Police also investigated nine accidents throughout town. Three of the accidents involved injuries.
