Police: Suspect Claims Self-Defense In Robbing, Killing Bridgeport Dealer

BRIDGEPORT, Conn. -- A 21-year-old Bridgeport man claimed self-defense in the shooting of a drug dealer on Friday night according to police in a story on CTPost.com.

Police said Jovanne Brown confessed to the shooting. He was arraigned Monday before Superior Court Judge William Holden in the fatal shooting of Michael Watkins, 26. 

Brown faces felony murder, murder, possession of a pistol without a permit, weapons in a motor vehicle, first-degree robbery and conspiracy to commit first-degree robbery, the story said. The incident happened on Feb. 24 in an altercation on Berkshire Avenue. Click here for the CTPost.com story.
