Russell Gilchrist, 22, of Bridgeport, was nabbed during a warrant raid at 48 Highland Ave., in the Green Homes Federal Housing Projects, said Terron Jones, spokesman for the Bridgeport Police.

Gilchrist, who is a convicted felon with several prior firearm-related offenses and an active member of the "Greens Boys," was found with an assault rifle, a semi-automatic handgun, drugs, and ammo, Jones aid.

The bust took place after Task Force officers received credible information that Gilchrist was staying in the apartment with a woman and her juvenile kids, he added.

When police entered the residence they found Louvenia Wilkes and Gilchrist inside the apartment along with the two small kids.

Once the location was deemed safe, Task Force officers conducted a search and located the weapons and drugs packaged for street-level sales, Jones said.

Gilchrist was processed by state police, Troop G, and held on $250,000 bond.
