The incident took place just before 10 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 6, in the 300 block of Dover Street when after a Shotspotter gunfire activation and numerous 911 calls regarding a person shot in Bridgeport.
When officers arrived on the scene they found a man shot in the back after his vehicle came to a stop in front of a snowbank on Dover Street, said Scott Appleby, director of Emergency Management.
An investigation found the man was delivering food in the area.
The victim was taken by medics to Bridgeport Hospital. The extent of his injuries was not known.
