Busy Roadway Reopens In Bridgeport Following Shooting

A busy Fairfield County roadway that was closed in two locations due to a shooting that left one person with life-threatening injuries has reopened.

Route 8 in Bridgeport and Trumbull reopened around 11:30 a.m., Tuesday, June 15, as state police wrapped up an investigation into the shooting that closed the busy roadway for hours.

The northbound lanes between exits 4 and 5 in Bridgeport and exits 5 and 8 in Trumbull were closed around 3:30 a.m. Tuesday, following the shooting that injured two people, one critically, said Connecticut State Police.

State police have not released additional information about the shooting.
