A local transgender woman shot in the face and arm is in serious, but stable condition, Bridgeport Police said.
The shooting took place around 2 p.m. Wednesday on Park Street, when the woman was targeted by a man she knows, said Av Harris, spokesman for the Bridgeport Police.
Officers found the woman, who was unable to speak due to a broken jaw from a bullet, on the 200 block of Park Street, Harris said.
“Look like victim was targeted by suspect,” he said. “She knows him.”
The woman is being treated at a local hospital.
An investigation into the shooting is ongoing, Harris added.
