Bridgeport City Council To Decide Fate Of Police Chief

BRIDGEPORT, Conn. — Mayor Joe Ganim and the Bridgeport City Council will decide next week whether the city's police chief can retire and take another emergency management position in the city, according to ctpost.com.

Police Chief Joseph Gaudett has been on the force since the 1980s, and his $131,000 contract was up in December until the outgoing mayor extended it another five years, reports ctpost.com.

Ganim was expected to appoint a new chief, possibly Capt. Armando “A.J.” Perez, according to ctpost.com.
