BRIDGEPORT, Conn. -- Lifetime Bridgeport resident Rita (D'Amato) Romano Coppola died on Sunday, Jan. 17. She was 85.
Born in Bridgeport, Coppola "was quite the extravagant lady," according to information provided by the William R. McDonald Funeral Home. "She was always dressed to the nines." She loved travel, reading and relaxing in the sun.
Coppola is survived by her only child, Craig Romano Sr. and his wife Kimberly of Stratford; grandchildren Amy Romano, Leanne Ready and her husband Christopher, and Craig Romano Jr. and his fiancé, Brittany Shackett; great-grandchildren Myles and Nora Ready; sister Dorothy Garamella; nephew and nieces Chris, Dina and Lynn Garamella; and many more nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her first husband, Mario Romano; and her siblings Tommy, Al, Angie and Antoinette.
Calling hours are from 10 to 11 a.m. on Thursday, Jan. 21, at the William R. McDonald Funeral Home, 2591 Main St., Stratford. A funeral service will follow at 11 a.m., with interment afterward in Saint Michael's Cemetery.
