She was born May 14, 1918, in Bridgeport, to Thomas and Margaret Malone Buggie. She worked at Mitchell Brothers where she met her husband. She later retired from Remington Rand where she worked for more than 25 years.
In addition to her daughter, Peggie Lopez and friend Joe Mainiero, she is survived by three grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; one great great-grandson; her sister-in-law of Florida; and several nieces and nephew.
She was predeceased by her husband of 60 years, Joseph Romano, four sisters, three brothers, and her best friend and sister-in-law.
Calling hours will take place Friday, Aug. 28 from 10-11:45 a.m. in the Commerce Hill Funeral Home, 4798 Main St., Bridgeport.
A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Friday, at noon in St. Andrew's Church, Bridgeport, followed by interment in St. Michael's Cemetery, Stratford, Connecticut.
