Marilyn O. Foster, 85, Of Poughkeepsie

POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. -- Marilyn O. Foster, of Poughkeepsie, died Thursday, Dec. 1. She was 85.

Born Dec. 17, 1930, in Passaic, she was the daughter of the late Henry and Daisy Graham Olsen. 

She attended Centenary University, receiving her AAS degree and also attended Katherine Gibbs School. 

On Dec. 22, 1951, she  married John C. Foster in Montclair, and he predeceased her Sept. 24, 2016. 

She was an active volunteer at Vassar Brothers Medical Center and was a former member of Dutchess Golf and Country Club. She enjoyed golf and playing bridge. 

She is survived by her son, John (Jack) and his wife Elizabeth Foster; and her daughters, Elizabeth Foster Norton, Mary Foster Fleckenstein and Nancy Foster Kovacs and her husband Joseph; 15 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. 

In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by a daughter, Joanne Foster Dyer. 

There are no calling hours and burial will be private and at the convenience of the Family.

Services are under the direction of the William G. Miller & Son Funeral Home, 371 Hooker Ave., Poughkeepsie.
