BRIDGEPORT, Conn. – John F. Mancini, 69, of Bridgeport, died Wednesday, July 22 at Ludlowe Health Care, Fairfield.
Born in Bridgeport May 31, 1946, he was a son of the late Robert and Florence Marella Mancini. A U.S. Navy Veteran having served during the Vietnam War, he also owned the Dolan's Corner, formerly of Bridgeport, for over 25 years. He was an avid sports fan, especially of the New York Yankees, and was also a member of the Port 5 Naval Veterans.
He is survived by his wife of 26 years, Deborah Capozzi Mancini; his daughter Morgan Mancini of Bridgeport; four siblings; two sisters-in-law; a special goddaughter; and several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his infant daughter Jessica, who had passed exactly 26 years prior; three brothers; a sister-in-law; a brother-in-law; and a niece.
Friends may call Saturday, July 25 from 8:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull. Funeral services will follow at 10:30 a.m. in the funeral home and at 11 a.m. in St. Andrew Church, Bridgeport, for a mass of Christian burial. Entombment with full military honors will follow in the Garden Mausoleum of St. Michael Cemetery, Stratford.
