FAIRFIELD COUNTY, Conn. — The sun was out Tuesday morning, but Fairfield County commuters should brace for rain and light snow that could have an impact on the evening commute, according to the National Weather Service.
Mostly cloudy skies will give way to rain and snow by Tuesday afternoon and into the evening. The chance of precipitation is 70 percent with up to an inch or two of accumulation possible, especially in areas farther north.
Snow is more likely inland, with rain near the coast.
Flurries could linger into Wednesday morning with temperatures reaching a high of 32 degrees and gusty winds.
Thursday will remain mostly cloudy with a high in the mid-30s.
Friday will be mostly sunny with highs in the low 40s.
Wintery weather could return on Saturday with freezing rain and snow possible.
