A 30-year-old woman who crossed the picket line to shop at Stop & Shop was issued a summons by police after allegedly getting in a fight with protestors in Wilton.

The incident took place around 12:30 p.m., Tuesday, April 16, when Wilton police responded to a disturbance in front of Stop & Shop at 5 River Road between protesting employees and a customer, said Wilton Police Lt. Robert Kluk.

Upon arrival, it was learned that Shabrina Fludd of Bridgeport got into a verbal altercation with the Stop & Shop employees protesting in front of the store, Kluk said.

Stop & Shop employees throughout the area have been protesting for a week in an effort to obtain affordable healthcare and fair compensation.

Fludd became angry when she was being video recorded by a protester and grabbed the phone out of the protester's hand while still yelling at them, Kluk said.

No injuries were reported during the altercation and Fudd was removed from the premises.

Fludd was given a misdemeanor summons for breach of peace and is scheduled to appear in court on April 30.

Note: Police have corrected the spelling of the suspect's last name.
