CT Wrong-Way Teenage Driver Who Caused Crash Admitted Smoking Pot Before Driving, Police Say

A Connecticut woman who was driving the wrong way on Route 15 and was involved in a two-vehicle crash has been arrested for allegedly driving while high on marijuana.

Alma Robledo, age 19, of Hartford, was arrested on Monday, May 17, by Connecticut State Police for the crash which took place in February, said state police.

According to police, Robledo was traveling southbound in the northbound lane of the highway when she collided with another vehicle in Meriden in New Haven County.

Neither driver was injured, but Robledo admitted at the time of the crash to smoking marijuana prior to getting in her vehicle and driving, state police said.

Robledo was charged with:

  • DUI/drugs
  • Driving the wrong way on a divided highway
  • Driving without a license

She was released to her sister on a $1,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in court in June.
