BRIDGEPORT, Conn. -- Connecticut's Beardsley Zoo in Bridgeport will hold the Asian New Year Celebration on Saturday, Feb. 13.
Join your Zoo friends in celebrating the Year of the Monkey with special stories, crafts, a children's parade and many more fun activities.
Connecticut's Beardsley Zoo is a whole new experience. Connecticut's only zoo features 300 animals representing primarily North and South American species. Visitors won't want to miss the red panda, giant anteaters, Amur (Siberian) tigers, Brazilian ocelot, red wolves and golden lion tamarins.
Other highlights include the South American rainforest with free-flight aviary, the prairie dog exhibit with "pop-up" viewing areas, the New England Farmyard with goats, cows, pigs, sheep and other barnyard critters, plus the hoofstock trail featuring bison, pronghorn, deer and more.
Visitors can grab a bite at the Peacock Café, eat in the Picnic Grove, and enjoy a ride on the zoo's colorful carousel. For more information, visit beardsleyzoo.org.
The the Asian New Year Celebration is from noon - 3 p.m. The snow date is Feb. 20.
