The Paris-themed event promises artists from around town, crepes, baguettes, live chamber music, a strolling magician, demonstrations by a chocolatier, and a new youth art annex to the main plaza. A portion of the proceeds will benefit the Darien Library art gallery, and the rain date is Oct. 1. There is no admission charge.

Darien’s fine art exhibit will aim to evoke the feel of Montmartre, explained Nobu Miki, a modern folk artist who conceived and organized the event. “This is devoted to fine art, exhibited outdoors on a brilliant autumn day,” Nobu said. “The talent assembled on the plaza will be real professionals and amateurs with solid regional reputations."

All live in lower Fairfield County. Like last year, artists will keep the price on most sale items to less than $500. Continuously throughout the day, classical music ensemble Chamber Music Institute will perform near the fountain. The young Fairfield Count violinists are music students of Akiko Silver of Darien.

Now in its second year, the fall outdoor exhibit will give away a free art poster to the first 500 arrivals. The lively color poster celebrates the day’s event. The poster is a collaboration by Billi Kid and Nobu Miki. Click here for more information.
