Prominent Attorney, Former Hudson County Prosecutor Harold Ruvoldt Dies, 81
Harold Ruvoldt, Jr. a prominent attorney in North Jersey, died on Sunday, Sept. 17 at the age of 81, according to his obituary.
Ruvoldt, who lived in Haworth and Jersey City, was a graduate of St. Peter's College, Seton Hall Law School and Rutgers University Business School, according to his obituary.
Ruvoldt was a trial and appellate lawyer working as a partner in private practice while also serving as a Hudson County prosecutor, Hudson County Counsel and Jersey City Counsel, his obituary reads.

New Milford PD: Hackensack Ex-Con Made Dozens Of Threatening Calls To Police, Local School
An ex-con with a history of making threats used racial slurs in alarming calls to a New Milford school, followed by 26 similar calls to borough police, authorities charged.
The first call by Sean Michael Persons, 39, of Hackensack last week was “threatening, offensive and had racial rhetoric,” alarming school administrators, Police Capt. Kevin Van Saders said.

Driver, 21, Killed In Predawn Closter Crash
A Closter driver died in a predawn crash despite furious efforts to save him, authorities said.
The victim, 21, failed to negotiate a turn when his 2018 Mercedes GLE hit a tree and telephone pole before coming to rest on its side on Piermont Road near Alpine Drive at 4:46 a.m. Wednesday, Closter Police Chief John McTigue said.
Closter police, assisted by their colleagues from Norwood and Haworth, lifted the car and freed the driver, who was pinned beneath the vehicle, the chief said.
They began CPR and summoned a medical chopper that was then cancelled because of the foggy weather.

Video: Haworth Nanny, Baby Stroller Struck By Hit-Run Van, Fleeing Rockland Driver Caught
A Haworth nanny and an infant she was pushing in a stroller were struck Wednesday by a van driven by a FedEx worker from Rockland who fled the scene, authorities said.
A police sergeant in neighboring Demarest stopped David Gutfeld, 56, of Airmont a short time later, Haworth Police Chief Michael Gracey said.
The child was OK, but the 55-year-old nanny had to be hospitalized, Gracey said, adding that the entire incident was captured on home security video.
“Lucky thing the child was strapped in securely,” he said.
