Police ID Man Struck, Killed By SUVs In Flanders After 'Overwhelming Community Response'
A Long Island man who was killed after being hit by two SUVs has been identified thanks to assistance from the public.
The man, identified as Julio Sicay-Perez, age 43, of Flanders, was struck on Route 105 in Flanders around 7:30 p.m., Sunday, Sept. 25.
According to Lt. Susan Ralph, with the Southampton Police, Sicay-Perez died on Sunday night from injuries sustained during the crash.
The medical examiner was working to identify him when Southampton Police put out a call to the public for help on Monday, Sept. 26.

Suspect Nabbed After Man Shot, Killed Outside His Long Island Home
A suspect is now in custody days after a shooting that left a Long Island man dead.
The victim was shot outside his Moriches residence on Friday, Nov. 26, at about 1 a.m.
The man, Tyrell Durham, age 37, who resided at Tall Oaks Circle, was transported to Long Island Community Hospital in East Patchogue where he was pronounced dead, Suffolk County Police said.
On Wednesday afternoon, Dec. 1, Suffolk County Police announced the arrest of Michael Gilbert, age 28, of Flanders.
He's been charged with second-degree murder, according to police.

Long Island Man Attacks Victim With Stick, Knife, Police Say
A Long Island man was arrested after he allegedly attacked another person with a stick, injuring the victim.
The incident took place in Suffolk County around 7:15 p.m., on Wednesday, June 24, in Flanders, said Lt. Susan Ralph of the Southampton Town Police.
Demoy Ashwood, 28, of Flanders, was arrested by Southampton Police after he allegedly assaulted another man with a stick, injuring the victim, and then threatened him with a knife, Ralph said.

A Long Island mother who allegedly shot the father of her child and then went on the run, prompting an AMBER Alert, has turned herself in to police.
According to the Southampton Police Department, Patchita Tennant, 42, of Riverhead, surrendered at the police department earlier Friday, Sept. 6, said Southampton Police Lt. Susan Ralph.
Her 3-year-old daughter was found safe earlier in the day following an AMBER Alert being issued after her father was allegedly shot by Tennant, police said.
