Storm Knocks Out Power To Over 100,000 In Connecticut: Here Are Communities With Most Outages
A powerful storm packed with damaging winds has knocked out power to more than 100,000 across Connecticut.
As of around 7:45 a.m. Friday, Dec. 23, Eversource is reporting 97,652, with United Illuminating reporting another 3,447.
Among the communities with the most outages:

2 Drivers Injured, 1 Seriously, In 3-Car CT Crash
Two drivers were injured, one seriously in a three-car crash on a busy Connecticut roadway.
The crash took place in Litchfield County around 1:30 p.m., Wednesday, Aug. 17 on Route 6 in Woodbury.
According to state police, Michael Daddona, age 78, a resident of the Town of Bethlehem in Litchfield County, was driving a Chevrolet Bolt south on Route 6 in when he crossed the center line and hit Constance Schanio, age 34, of Woodbury, heading north in a Jeep Grand Cherokee.

Thousands in Connecticut had power restored overnight as the state contends with the first major winter storm of 2021 and one of the biggest in years.
Utility crews across the state worked overnight to make repairs, with several hundred still in the dark as of around 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 2.
Eversource was reporting multiple outages on Tuesday morning, which were still impacting 854 of the company’s 1,283,816 customers.

The number of “red" communities in Connecticut has reached 100, according to the most recent state data, Thursday, Nov. 12.
Infection rates have been rising in Connecticut dramatically. There are now 100 cities and towns with the highest daily averages of newly reported COVID-19 cases.
Last week, Thursday, Nov. 5, there were 67 red communities.
And the week before that, Oct. 29, there were 30.

Isaias Outage Update: Latest Breakdown Of Most-Affected Litchfield County Towns
Power has been restored to thousands in Connecticut, but more than 30,000 are still waiting for crews to make repairs a week after Tropical Storm Isaias struck Litchfield County.
As of 10 a.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 11, 30,634 of Eversource’s 1,281,332 Connecticut customers were still waiting to have their power turned back on. An additional 174 United Illuminating customers were also dealing with outages.
