Holyoke Community Rallies To Save Greek Place As Owners Face Eviction After 40 Years
The Greek Place, which has been a staple at the Holyoke Mall for over 40 years, is closing its doors on Thursday, Nov. 30, after receiving an eviction notice from the mall’s owners.
“When I read it, I couldn’t believe it,” owner Maria Muche told MassLive, in shock. “This is not real. And I put it in the seat next to me. Two days later, I went back in my car, saw the letter, and read it. It started sinking in.”

Drug Ring Bust Leads To 20 Convictions In Western Mass
Authorities in Western Massachusetts are celebrating as two men, busted as part of a drug ring in 2021, pled guilty on Thursday, June 8. That makes 20 felony convictions since investigators began dismantling the operation in 2021, officials said.
Jason Nadeau, 42, of Ludlow, pleaded guilty to two felony charges of trafficking cocaine and one of conspiracy, the Northwestern District Attorney's Office said.
David Gallegos, 30, of Deerfield, will serve a year of probation after a judge continued without a finding a charge of conspiracy, the prosecutor said. …
Violent Robberies: Man Gets 10 Years For CT, Western Mass Heists
A 23-year-old Connecticut man who admitted to his role in several violent armed robberies of AT&T stores will spend the next decade behind bars, a judge ruled on Tuesday, May 23.
Alex Josephs, of the city of Hartford, must also repay $298,073.86 to three Connecticut and Western Massachusetts stores he and his team of burglars robbed over the course of several months in 2021, the US Attorney for Connecticut said.
