Florida Man Uses Lit Cigar As Weapon During East Garden City Assault, Police Say
A Florida man was arrested for allegedly attacking a customer at a popular Long Island restaurant and bar with a lit cigar and a glass bottle.
The incident occurred in Nassau County at The Cuban at 987 Stewart Ave., at 1:45 a.m., Saturday, April 22 in East Garden City.
According to Nassau County Police detectives, a 47-year-old man was sitting at the bar of The Cuban when Bruno Esteves, age 47, of Loxahatchee, Florida, located near West Palm Beach, began to nudge the victim who was seated next to him.

Police Officer In Northern Westchester Dies Suddenly At Age 25
A police officer who grew up and worked in Northern Westchester has died suddenly.
Nicholas D. Hansen 25, of Pleasantville, died on Thursday, Oct. 1 at his residence. He was an officer with the Town of Bedford Police Department.
He was born on June 15, 1995, to Dean and Vikki (nee Palmieri) Hansen in White Plains.
He was a graduate of Pleasantville High School, Class of 2013, and went on to receive his Associate's Degree.
He was an avid cook and a motorcycle enthusiast, according to his obituary.

A man with a residence in Northern Westchester is behind bars after allegedly being caught on a “nanny cam” attempting to take inappropriate photos of a minor.
John Passaretti, 50, who lives in both West Palm Beach, Florida, and Pleasantville, has been arraigned on charges related in his attempt to take a sexually explicit photo of a child, Westchester County District Attorney Anthony Scarpino, Jr., said.

As Hurricane Dorian continues to make its way toward the East Coast, New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo says he is “closely monitoring” its path.

Long Island's MacArthur Airport Adds More Florida Flights
More flights will go to Florida from Long Island's MacArthur Airport starting in November.
The flight will run through March, according to the Town Of Islip.
The flight schedule includes ones to Fort Lauderdale throughout the year, not seasonally, and an increase in Orlando flights from one to two times a day, every day but Tuesday,
