A pickup truck driver from New York has been charged with aggravated assault and weapons offenses following a road-rage shooting on Route 78 in Hunterdon County earlier this month, authorities said.
Collen M. Brown, 25, of Jamaica, NY, was driving a pickup truck eastbound alongside a tractor-trailer when he fired a 9 mm handgun at its engine compartment around 3 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 15, Hunterdon County Prosecutor Renée M. Robeson said.

'Just Take Me To Jail,' Man With Meth Tells North Jersey Cops
A Hackettstown man was arrested after he was allegedly found with a meth pipe sitting on an unmarked police car asking officers to take him to jail.
Officers found Cody Zeigler, 27, sitting on the hood of an unmarked vehicle at the Hackettstown Police Department around 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 6, they said.
Zeigler remarked, “just take me to jail,” before pointing to a pipe with suspected meth residue that he put on the vehicle’s hood, according to police.
He was then arrested and charged with possession of methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia, and disorderly conduct.

A Sussex County ex-con was found guilty after a three-week trial of first-degree murder and other charges in connection with the stabbing of a 38-year-old woman in Hunterdon County, authorities announced on Friday, May 26.
Brandon E. Petersen, 33, of Newton, was found guilty of first-degree murder, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, unlawful possession of a weapon, and unlawful taking of a means of conveyance, Hunterdon County Prosecutor Renée M. Robeson said. He was acquitted of his witness tampering charge.

A Phillipsburg woman who threatened a victim with a large knife while demanding to be paid through a mobile application was charged with robbery, authorities said.
Melissa C. Petersen, of Red School Lane, is accused of using a large kitchen knife to threaten a victim while demanding money through a mobile application on Sunday, July 17, Warren County Prosecutor James L. Pfeiffer said in a release alongside local officials on Monday, July 25.
Once the money was sent, Petersen, 34, left the victim’s apartment.

More than 300 heroin bricks valued at approximately $75,500 was found following a traffic stop on Route 80 in Warren County, leading to several charges for a Bronx pair, authorities said.
State Police stopped a car with a bogus license plate on Route 80 in Allamuchy Township on Sunday, May 1, Warren County Prosecutor James L. Pfeiffer said in a Monday release.

A Sussex County woman wanted for heroin distribution in Hackettstown was arrested in Newark, police confirmed.
Hackettstown Police issued a warrant for Chelsea M. Pruden, 28, with charges for heroin distribution on Nov. 19, authorities said.
Pruden, of Andover, was arrested in Newark by the Essex County Sheriff’s Office on Monday, police said.

A Phillipsburg man was charged Wednesday on accusations involving sexual assault of a minor, authorities said.
Thomas J. Luster, 23, is accused of committing “multiple acts of sexual penetration and sexual contact” upon a child between the ages of 13 and 16, Warren County Prosecutor James L. Pfeiffer said in a Thursday release.
Luster, of Henshaw Court, was at least four years older than and previously knew the victim, Pfeiffer said.
