A Nazi flag that was hanging in a Poughkeepsie apartment window, has been removed after complaints from the Dutchess County Democratic Committee and area leaders.
The flag was hanging, until Tuesday, Sept. 24, in an apartment window on Main Street in Poughkeepsie, one building away from the office of Joe Ruggiero, who is running for Dutchess County Executive, and not far from Vassar College.

A “national leader in higher education” is taking his talents from Kentucky to New Rochelle and will become Iona College’s ninth president.
Seamus Carey, the president of Transylvania University in Lexington, Kentucky, has been chosen following an extensive, nationwide search to take over at Iona, effective as of July 1. Kevin G. Roberts, or "Poppy" as he was called by friends and family, died peacefully in his sleep on Monday, April 22.
