A year to the day the body of a Westchester woman was found dead stuffed in a red suitcase in the woods of Greenwich, an ex-boyfriend pleaded guilty to kidnapping resulting in her death.
Valerie Reyes, 24, was found dead on the morning of Feb. 5, 2019, just off Glenville Road in Greenwich by a highway crew employee.
Javier E. DaSilva-Rojas, 25, pleaded guilty to the charge on Wednesday, Feb. 5, and is expected to be sentenced to at least 30 years in prison, said the Greenwich Police.

A former boyfriend arrested on Tuesday for the murder of 24-year-old Valerie Reyes of Westchester admitted during an interview with law enforcement that he bound the woman and stuffed her inside a suitcase before dumping it in Greenwich.
Javier Da Silva, of Queens, admitted during an interview with an FBI agent that he did bound and put Reyes, a New Rochelle resident, in a suitcase and leave it in a wooded area, said a criminal complaint filed in White Plains Superior Court on Tuesday, Feb. 12.

Greenwich and New Rochelle police have arrested a former boyfriend in the murder of Valerie Reyes, the Westchester woman who was found dead bound and stuffed inside a suitcase in a wooded Greenwich area.
On Tuesday, Feb. 12, New Rochelle Police detectives, accompanied by Greenwich Police detectives, arrested Javier DeSilva, of Queens, in New York who had fraudulently used Reyes’ ATM card, said New Rochelle Police Capt. Cosmo Costa.
