Sag Harbor Man Nabbed With Double-Barrel Shotgun, Police Say
A Long Island man has been arrested for allegedly possessing a gun in violation of an active order of protection.
Benjamin Lehmann, age 30, of Sag Harbor, was arrested by Riverhead Police on Friday, Dec. 31 during a traffic stop.
According to Det. Mark Stromski, of the Riverhead Police, during the stop, officers found Lehmann was in possession of a 12-gauge double-barreled shotgun in violation of the court order.
Lehmann was placed under arrest and charged with criminal contempt, criminal possession of a weapon, and various vehicle and traffic infractions, police said.

20-Year-Old Violently Fights Officers After Long Island Traffic Stop, Police Say
A man who was being arrested for allegedly committing numerous traffic infractions while driving a 2010 Mercedes Benz on Long Island violently fought officers, injuring one.
Dwayne Gordon, age 20, of Brooklyn, was arrested around 12:50 a.m., Friday, July 30, after being stopped in Lawrence for making numerous traffic infractions on the Rockaway Turnpike, said the Nassau County Police.
During an investigation after the stop, it was determined Gordon had used fraudulent Texas plates on the vehicle, police said.

Police arrested a 21-year-old man who allegedly had a loaded handgun in his vehicle during a traffic stop on Long Island.
Ryan Perry, of Blountstown, Florida, was arrested around 4:45 p.m., Thursday, May 13, after being stopped in East Garden City, said Nassau County Police.
According to detectives, officers spotted a 2021 GMC pickup driving southbound on Dibblee Drive with an expired registration and stopped the vehicle in the parking lot of the Red Roof Inn.

A Rochelle Park police officer found a handgun after stopping a car driven by an ex-con from Newark on Route 17, authorities said Friday.
Officer Chris Kiszka stopped the gray Infiniti for having a headlight out -- commonly known as a "padiddle" -- among other infractions, shortly after 10 p.m. Thursday, Lt. James DePreta said.
Kiszka immediately detected the odor of pot in the car, then spotted what was a loaded, high-capacity 9mm magazine on the floor, DePreta said.

Eusebio I. Cordova, 43, crashed near Route 206 and Main Street in Flanders around 6:30 p.m. Sunday, Mount Olive police said.

Two area men were arrested for allegedly being in possession of a weapon and drugs during a traffic stop for having excessive window tinting.
Kevin Colon, 32, and Mario Perez, 31, both of Rockaway, Queens, were arrested around 1:30 p.m., Thursday, Nov. 12, during the stop in Levittown on the Hempstead Turnpike, said the Nassau County Police.
During the stop of the 2017 Nissan Altima, officers found Colon, 32, was in possession of a substance believed to be marijuana. Perez was allegedly found to be in possession of a handgun. He was arrested without incident.

Two area men were arrested for possession of stolen property after being stopped by police in Northern Westchester for several traffic infractions.

A speeding driver was found with MDMA, hundreds of illegal pills and other paraphernalia during a traffic stop in Sussex County, authorities said.
Jason Pilato was traveling on Route 206 in Byram Township when he was pulled over for speeding on Monday, Sept. 7, police said.
During questioning, officers observed a bag of pills in the vehicle, police said.
A search of Pilato’s vehicle turned up several hundred tablets of various controlled medications, marijuana edibles, a syringe and empty Ziplock bags, police said.
