Shawn Christophe Cranston, 52 of Corry, PA, has been charged with Criminal Homicide, Criminal Homicide of an Unborn Child, Burglary, and Criminal trespass for the slaying of Rebekah A. Byler, 23 of the 2100 block of Fish Flats Road in Sparta Township around noon on Monday, Feb. 26, according to police.

Over half a century after his body was found in Slatington, state police continue to investigate the death of Richard Stewart Wimbish.
The 49-year-old was found shot to death and wrapped in a sleeping bag in Trout Creek on Jan. 13, 1973, troopers say.
Wimbish was last seen alive leaving work on Dec. 29, 1972, authorities said. He was employed by the Pennsylvania Trucking Company located at 49th Street and Parkside Avenue in West Philadelphia.
His regular delivery route saw him travel as far north as Scranton, Wilkes-Barre, and Stroudsburg, police said. …

Sandra Ann Miller was just 22 years old when police found her dead in her Nazareth Borough home early on Sept. 18, 1978.
Miller, mother of a 10-month-old girl, had been stabbed, beaten, and choked to death in her 115 Spring Street residence, according to Pennsylvania State Police.
In an archival report from the Allentown Morning Call, investigators said they saw evidence of a violent struggle in the home — vases were knocked over, covers were pulled from the bed, and a telephone was off the receiver, indicating a possible attempt to call for help.

Human Remains ID'd As Pennsylvania Man Missing Since 2012: Coroner
A Monroe County man who went missing more than a decade ago died from a gunshot wound to the head, according to officials.
The remains of Stephen C. Lepore were unearthed at 95 Peet Road in Dreher Township, Wayne County, said the Coroner's Office.
The skeletal remains were discovered by an unknown party on Tuesday morning, Oct. 17, and identified as Lepore using dental records on Thursday, Oct. 19, Coroner Edward R. Howell said.
Lepore, of Tobyhanna, was last seen on the morning of August 17, 2012, driving his 2007 Chevrolet Express, state police investigators have said.

Jonathan E. Polanco of Reading, 28, never showed up to the Court of Common Pleas for a final disposition hearing on Thursday, Aug. 24, said troopers in a release.
