Pedestrian Thrown Nine Feet In Philadelphia Hit-Run: Officials
A pedestrian suffered "serious head trauma" after being struck while crossing a Philadelphia street early Sunday morning, April 21, police told Daily Voice. The victim was hit by a dark blue Chevrolet Camaro while crossing the 5100 block of Grays Avenue around 1:20 a.m., authorities said. They were thrown about nine feet and taken to Penn-Presbyterian Hospital in critical condition, according to police. The driver, 34, fled eastbound on Grays Avenue but later surrendered to police, authorities said. The investigation is ongoing, PPD added.

A taxi driver was hospitalized with cuts to his face after a carjacker stole his vehicle and then crashed it in South Philadelphia, according to city police. Police have identified the elderly man shot dead in a parked car in West Philadelphia on Tuesday afternoon, March 5. He was 88-year-old Richard Butler, PPD told Daily Voice. Police said they were dispatched to the 100 block of North Dewey Street around 1:30 p.m. They found Butler in a white Hyundai with multiple gunshot wounds to the chest, authorities said.
