An all-new wine and spirits store in Westchester will soon celebrate its grand openings with free tastings and merchandise.
Ultimate Wine and Spirits, located in Elmsford in the ShopRite complex at 310 Saw Mill River Rd., will celebrate its grand opening on Saturday, June 1 from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m., Greenburgh Town Supervisor Paul Feiner announced.
The family and women-owned store, owned by Brittney and Zahid Mahir, will feature a "diverse array of fine wines and spirits from around the world," as well as personalized service, the owners said.

An all-new bakery in Westchester that just celebrated its opening is already hitting it off with customers.
Paris Baguette, a French-Korean bakery chain with more than 4,000 locations across the globe, opened a new business in Hartsdale at the Dalewood Shopping Plaza at 385 Central Ave. on Friday, Dec. 1, according to Greenburgh Town Supervisor Paul Feiner.
The new eatery, located next to Barnes & Noble near the H Mart supermarket, sells a variety of baked goods, sandwiches, coffee, tea, and fresh bread.

New Rochelle-Based Radio Station Wvox To End Programming: 'Big Loss'
After nearly 70 years, Westchester's hometown radio station, WVOX, has gone out of business a little over a year after the death of its owner.
The beloved New Rochelle-based station (1460 AM) discontinued all programming effective on Thursday night, Sept. 7, over a year after its owner, William O’Shaughnessy, died in late May 2022 at the age of 84.

A vigil is planned to honor a much-loved Westchester community leader who was killed by a hit-and-driver.
Stephanie Kavourias, age 65, of the hamlet of Hartsdale, was struck by a driver allegedly high on drugs or alcohol around 11:15 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 26 in the area of 177 Hartsdale Ave., in Hartsdale.
Kavourias, who was highly respected in the community for her service as the former manager of the Hartsdale Parking Authority, was struck by a vehicle driven by Antonio Sanchez Robles, age 42, of Brooklyn, who fled the scene, said the Town of Greenburgh Police Department.

Food Drive For Migrants Organized In Ardsley: Asylum Seekers 'Sick, Hungry,' Organizers Say
A group of volunteers who are finishing internships with a Westchester town will soon be holding a food drive to provide needed supplies to asylum seekers and migrants living in the county.
The food drive, organized by a group of 46 interns at Greenburgh Town Hall, will be hosting the food drive at Ardsley High School on Friday, Aug. 18, Saturday, Aug. 19, and Monday, Aug. 21, according to Greenburgh Town Supervisor Paul Feiner.
