IN Cold Blood (Update): Trio Charged With Killing Kidnapped Newark Man Alongside Route 80
UPDATE: Three Newark men have been charged by New Jersey State Police with shooting and killing a fellow Brick City resident and leaving his body alongside Route 80.
Two of them – William Dixon, 24, and Nishir Rios-Figueroa, 30 – were already in custody in connection with other crimes, State Police said on Tuesday. They captured the third, Mustafa Manns, 28, in Newark.
The trio had abducted the victim, 27-year-old Quadree “Pee” Burch, in early August and driven him to Allamuchy Township, 20 or so miles from the Pennsylvania state line, the NJSP said in a March 14 release.

'Unusual Incident:' NJ DOT Mower Stuck In I-295 South Jersey Creek, Driver Rescued
We've all heard the saying, "Up a creek without a paddle."
Well, first responders in South Jersey were called to such an "unusual incident," Friday afternoon.
Off of Interstate 295, near mile-marker 53.2 in Mansfield, a NJ Department of Transportation mower got "stuck in a creek," according to initial reports about noon and was "knee deep in the mud."
Local firefighters, EMS crews and a Burlington County tech rescue team were called for assistance, early reports said, along the right shoulder of I-295.

Jersey Shore Pedestrian Who 'Ran Out Into Traffic' Lost Everything In Forest Fire Last Month
A 55-year-old woman from Ocean County was killed when she ran out into traffic on Monday evening, authorities aid.
The victim was identified as Kathleen M. Winits, of Brick, a homeless woman who last month lost her belongings in a forest fire, news reports say.
The fatal pedestrian crash occurred at 6:55 p.m. at Route 70 and Olden Street, according to Brick Township police.
Winits was crossing Route 70 going towards the Brick Motor Inn Motel, against the pedestrian crossing signal, and she was not in the crosswalk, police said.
