Cold Case: Human Remains Found On Island In Susquehanna River, PA State Police Say
A cold case is heating up as Pennsylvania State Police work with the Lancaster County Coroner’s Office to identify human remains discovered nearly 40 years ago on Weise Island, officials announced on Monday, April 7.
The remains were located on Tuesday, March 18, 1986, on the island in the Susquehanna River, according to a release from PSP Lancaster. Investigators believe the deceased was an African American man between 20 and 40 years old, standing about 6-foot-1 and weighing around 190 pounds.

Suspects Sought In North Philly Home Invasion, Police Say
Philadelphia police are investigating after a home on the city's north side was invaded at gunpoint early on Monday, Nov. 21, authorities said.
Officers were called to a house on the 1900 block of North 18th Street near West Berks Street just before 6:30 a.m., police told Daily Voice.
According to authorities, two armed suspects wearing all black had entered a home and stolen cell phones, a tablet, a smartwatch, a laptop, a Glock handgun, and a black Mistubishi Cross.

A pair of New Balance sneakers helped identify a Trenton murder suspect, authorities said.
Alleged gang member Luis Alfredo Carranza-Andrade, 20, of Northwest, Washington, D.C., was wanted in the fatal shooting of Javier Chaj-Ajtun, 33, of Trenton, last August.
The fancy footwear -- apparently worn by the suspect at the time of the killing -- helped US Marshals to identify him when they tracked him down in Nebraska, according to NJ Advance Media.
