A Vermont man has pleaded guilty to manslaughter charges after his 2-year-old son drowned in Berkshire County when he lost the boy in a brook as he tried to run away from a car crash while intoxicated, authorities announced.
Darel Galorenzo, 36, of Readsboro, Vermont, admitted to charges of manslaughter, OUI-child endangerment, and negligent operation of a motor vehicle in the 2023 crash, the Berkshire County District Attorney's Office announced on Monday, March 4.

A 25-year-old engineer from Mercer County was killed this week by a wrong-way driver in Massachusetts, where she lived and worked, police said.
Geetika Guruprasad, of West Windsor, died just after 12:45 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 17, in Littleton, a suburb of Boston.
Guruprasad was driving her Mazda CX-5 on Route 2 when an SUV traveling on the wrong side of the road collided with her, Massachusetts State Police said. Paramedics rushed her to Emerson Hospital in Concord, Massachusetts, where doctors pronounced her dead.

A 22-year-old broke into a house with the homeowner still inside, and ran away only to drive into a yard intending to hit a woman with his car, officials say.
Tommy Moges, of Everett, was arrested on Monday, April 10 after a search that involved two police departments, according to the Tewksbury Police Department.
Moges broke into a home on River Road in Tewksbury at around 7:25 p.m. on the same day. The homeowner, who was inside the building, confronted Moges who then ran away.

A driver has pleaded guilty to charges stemming from an incident in which he seriously injured a homeless person when he crashed a vehicle into the bus stop where the man was sleeping.

Charges have been filed against the surviving driver in a fatal two-car crash on Route 2 in early October.
The Northwestern District Attorney’s Office said on Wednesday, Oct. 21, that George Cortina, 62, of Turners Falls, is being charged with crimes connected to the Oct. 4 accident on Route 2 in Greenfield that left Jonathan Rohrs, 41, of Acton, and his dog dead.
