Parent Picking Up Child At Montvale School Arrested For DWI
Police were called and a Montvale mom arrested when she showed up at her son's school hammered, authorities said.
Mayowa Kubikisha, 28, "seemed a little off," according to staff, after she pulled into the parking at Memorial Elementary School after the end of the school day on Thursday, May 9, Montvale Police Chief Douglas McDowell said.
They became concerned and called his officers, the chief said.
They had reason to be: Kubikisha registered a blood alcohol level of 0.33%, he said, more than four times the legal limit to drive in New Jersey.

A Bergen County high school is mourning the loss of one of its students.
Joseph "Joe" McNeice, 18, of Montvale, died peacefully on Tuesday, Feb. 20, 2024, his obituary on the Becker Funeral Home website says.
"He courageously battled hardships every single day of his life, but he outmatched each obstacle with a positive outlook and smiling face," Joe's obituary says.
A senior at Pascack Hills High School, Joe was a "dynamic force" on the school's bowling team, having learned the game from his older brother, Sean, Jeo's obituary reads.

Montvale Man Charged With Recording, Sharing His Own Porn Images Of Young Kids
A Montvale man recorded and shared “sexually suggestive” images of three young children while he was alone with them, authorities who raided his home on Tuesday charged.
John A. Bell, 39, a married software salesman, was caught with more than 1,000 digital files “depicting nude and/or sexually explicit pre-pubescent children,” Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella said following his arrest.
A more intensive investigation determined that Bell, of Cardinal Court, also produced his own images of pre-pubescent youngsters “posed and/or exposed” and shared them, Musella said.

Son Of Infamous Bergen County Burglar Charged With ID Theft, Unemployment Fraud
The son of an infamous Bergen County burglar was charged with unemployment fraud after a shoplifting bust in Virginia, authorities said.
A judge ordered Daniel Gatson Jr., 24, of Ridgefield released this week after he was booked into the Bergen County Jail hours earlier, records show.
Gatson assumed another identity to open bank accounts, then applied for and received unemployment benefits from the state of New Jersey, Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella said, without specifying the amount.
